Can I Get A Witness?
Hey there friends! Big Buddy here with more of my "two-cent" input. How many of you are sick of seeing this: Top Ten Reasons why...Top 100 Rules to...Top 15 Things to do on a first date...blah blah blah ? These lists sure are informative! Wow! Detect my sarcasm here: Did you know that women cry? over nothing? Interesting. Did you know that men, real men , like to watch football and drink beer on sunday afternoons? Astonishing! Usually, a list is compiled when there are actual statistics to back it up. Casey Casem's Top 40 was always a list I looked forward to hearing every sunday morning. (I must admit I was disappointed when they changed the criteria from song popularity to pure record sales) Sometimes, corporate america goes too far...yeah MTV/VH1 has more lists than Nirvana has songs (bite!) 100 Most Shocking TV Moments, Top 50 One Hit Wonders, etc. These lists get caught up in the pop-culture revolution and most of America has adopted.

But when you look at these lists, typically the ones found in your e-mail on a daily basis, they all have the same compiled load of phrases, rules, and myths dictating how everyone should act in said situations. They are generally there for our entertainment, but it seems that it is becoming more popular to live by these lists, rather than living life. The "List" is mocking life! Carpe Diem folks! It appears to me that we're much too busy coming up with rules for life rather than living life to the fullest.

Now, I admit, I'm not being fair. These lists do offer up a certain entertainment value that we need in order to bring some sanity to our hectic lives. I've found myself, more than once, compiling my own list of what is acceptable and unacceptable behavior in certain situations. As you read this, you may notice a list of the Top 20 things that women should know about men posted on this verywebsite. It gives us 20 statements that will make the human female species understand us more. It lets women know we are pig-headed, dirty creatures, who have a narrow thought process that involves food, sports and sex. Do they NOT know this allready? Do women really need to understand this? Do we really care if they do understand it or not? Query: Why are we obsessed with pointing out what is bad? End of query.

In my opinion, there should be things that women should not understand. I sometimes enjoy women complaining about the toilet seat being left up. Mostly because I know it drives them crazy. It comes down to this: All the little things that we do, unintentionally of course, that make women complain is better for men. Why do you ask? I'm not telling, not in this forum. Woman do know how to work the internet, just in case any of them can read, I don't want critical information falling into the wrong hands.

This is the part of the article where I lose some credibility with my female audience who CAN read. Don't be offended betty, did you lose some weight?

A philosophy on life is good to have. Stupid ideas are not good. Keep these lists to a minimum. If you must entertain yourselves, burn ants with a magnifying glass or something. Then again, don't do that, you'll catch yourself on fire...download some pornography on your computer, that appears harmless.

In essence, I took up a few minutes of your day to tell you what I think? Can I get a witness? How 'bout an Amen? May you walk gloriously threw the valley of death with the wind at your heels and the moon as your guide, only to ascend into the light of life and all that good bullshit :o)

Peace!
