“Twas Five’ nights before Christmas, and all through the house. Not a package arrived, not even my optical mouse.”
- Eric Webster

I ordered some stuff off of Staples.com the day after Thanksgiving. Internet shopping has many advantages over “Old Style” Christmas shopping and as you will read one major disadvantage.

I was walking from store to store of the beautifully decorated Providence Place Mall. Weaving and bobbing around people like I was Muhammad Ali fighting George Foreman in Africa. I was trying to find a good gift for someone. I knew about what I was looking for, I just couldn’t find it on the shelf or for that matter the store to venture into.

I then found myself wishing that the mall had a kiosk with a “search” feature like every online store I have ever went into. I could place my search, they could tell me the products, the store’s location, and prices so I wouldn’t have to walk through the mob of mindless idiots.

I am also reluctant to mention the fact that I had to wear pants while shopping in the mall as opposed to online shopping where I can go commando and nobody cares. Very disappointed I was, I will not lie to you.

When I got home I realized I had received one of my packages from staples.com It was supposed to be here on December 2nd, yet it arrived fashionably late. That was the least of my concerns. Because to my surprise this is what my package looked like.

I was indeed shocked too. You could see clear through the pound and a half of packing tape holding the box together. I would have expected that I sent this through the frontlines of World War II. Luckily the product wasn’t damaged. But I would like to know where this package went through. It must have been a running joke at some point to boot my package across the warehouse floor. It’s almost reminiscent of the opening scene to Ace Ventura: Pet Detective where Ace is kicking this package up and down a busy street.

This is the first time I have ever been disappointed or unsatisfied in any way with anything I have ever purchased online. I normally shop through amazon.com which has amazing service and shipping. I would probably recommend to stay away from Staples.com, they were very late, and not to mention a little “rough” with my product.

This give's new meaning to “unnecessary roughness” {sound of a whistle blow} 15 yards, 1st and 10.

p.s. Don’t forget the Pat’s tomorrow at 8pm!
