I dont mean to do it, but whilst working on my laptop its not uncommon for me to turn the TV on to the pop culture machine known as MTV. Why? Maybe I dont want to watch the news media machines hype up poverty, death and despair, or maybe its the music or maybe its the gratitous nudity I dont know.

Over my vacation I spent an ample ammount of time just reading web pages, working on this site, playing some poker at partypoker.com all while watching the "Newlyweds" Marathon on MTV. Normally I would have not been caught dead witching it but the remote was missing and the TV was all the way on the other side of the room.

Now I wont be shocked if you dont know what the Newlyweds is all about, its crap. Its a show about Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey's supposed daily life after getting married. Inadvertantly I got to expearience the sludge that is syphoned into the brains of 14 year old girls all day long. Jessica is stupid like the day is long. She also seems to be an utter pain in the ass (aka Beeotch). I have a new found respect for Nick Lachey (a boy band pop star) for dealing with her crap. He seemed somewhat normal in a scene where people with morals are about as aboundant as solid gold twinkies

Beyond the show there were many music videos with the "dubs" and the "Bling Bling" (the most retarded term ever to be coined in pop culture) And I know im starting to show my age, I'm not in thier demographic I dont believe (mindless female drones 12-25)

I guess entertainment could just be seen as either being interested or disgusted enough to continue watching. Or in my case, too lazy to get off my ass to find the remote control.
