Censorship is out of control. I’m sick and tired of my government stepping in and telling me what I can and cannot see. I agree that Janet’s boobs should have stayed in her outfit, and she should be punished, not us. She willingly whipped it out, yet faced hardly any criminal/social penalties. Yesterday Howard Stern got yanked by Clear Channel in a few of the top markets. A show that I hardly listen to, but I sometimes appreciate an candid interview that he executes very well. I understand that maybe some people don’t appreciate his humor, but isn’t it easier for you not to listen rather than to hide everyone from the content that we wish to view? “But Eric, what about my children? They are going to be warped/violent/angry if they listen to that show!” If you honestly believe that, fine. Your entitled to that right, that’s free speech. But how about this, why don’t YOU control what YOU think your child should see. If you have control of your offspring, and they respect what you wish, they will not watch. If you don’t have control of them, use parental controls on televisions, that’s why there in there! If you’re a frequenter of this site, you would probably know that I have been a supporter of President Bush, not that I think he was doing a great job, but really who was the last great president we had? He did a decent job in the war, but now I feel that the ball has been dropped a little bit. His views on gay marriage are as old fashioned as the rotary telephone. Is there really a need to spend government money defending something that isn’t going to change the lives of the vast majority of the populous. Really what is the big deal? This week isn’t giving me a lot of faith in my government. There are more murders and violence in America than almost every country, yet we decide to ignore that problem and concentrate our efforts on gay marriages?? Other countries in Europe don’t have their governments stepping in and controlling the information they see, yet there aren't legions of warped loonies running around killing people, like there is over here. I’m back, and pissed off.
