It was just about one year ago when 12 of my good friends and I gathered together to partake in the fabled “The 999 Dream Challenge.” In the end we had 4 victors and a new found respect for Oscar Meyer Wieners.
The gathering was so overwhelmingly successful in fact, that people have routinely asked all year long if we would attempt it again. Well save the date boys and girls, it’s Sunday April 9th, 2005 @ 12:30pm … easy way to remember “999 on the 9th” … my marketing team kicks ass!
This time we are not only stocking up on Hotdogs, Ketchup and Beer… but we have learned from our experiences to include Maalox, Rolaids and Air Freshener.
All participants must RSVP so we know how much beer/food we need to purchase, this years modest entry fee is a steal at only $5.00! When else would $5.00 get you 9 beers and 9 hotdogs and the story/memories for a lifetime?
If you have special requests for condiments (or a special kind of hotdog), please let me know and I’ll be sure to get it for you!
Tell your friends as they are welcome to attempt the challenge too. I hope this year to have again 12 participants and also to have a webcam up by then. This way everybody, even you anonymous internet visitor from Dakota, will be able to tune in between innings to watch 12 grown men (and women) groan as they painfully shove hotdog #8 down their mouths before the first pitch of the ninth inning.
This year Shawn, Steve, Jon and I will attempt to make the journey to the “2nd timers club” which I’m still not convinced is a good thing.

Me: Yes, bun-dog separation is a completely legal move. As long as the previous dog is eaten by the first pitch of the next inning, any way you ingest the dog is fine.
I will have a blender on hand if anybody wants to have a Beerdog shake.

A.) Eat just the dog and no bun
B.) Eat the dog and then the bun
B. in any order .. you have to eat everything .. but no requirements on how to do that.
From "Dakota"? Are you referring to Dakota Territory or is there a new state called Dakota that I am unaware of? Last I checked there was a North and a South Dakota.
Also, I am having gastrointestinal aches just thinking about your challenge. Blech.

Nicole, your more than welcome to tune in to watch a 12 person chain-puke if you wish. (is “chain-puke” a hyphenated term?)
As an FYI, South Dakota doesn't like to be lumped with North Dakota and vice versa. Just a little bit to know if you're ever in that area.
I don't know if chain-puke is a hyphenated term, but either way I'm pretty sure it's something I don't need to see.
