Snoozer Bowl
Posted on February 06, 2006 in SportsAfter surviving last nights snoozer bowl I can’t but wonder if my feeling towards this game are jilted by the fact that the Patriots were not in the big game this year and had they been they would have EASILY won. The game was excruciatingly boring topped off with boring/bad play, non-existant competition and awful officiating.
Easily one of the worst Superbowls ever.
Roethlis–whatever-berger sucked. Hasselbeck sucked less but still sucked something awful. Alexander was kept under wraps pretty much and Coach Mike Holmgren calls plays which are about as exciting to watch as standing in line at the DMV.
Screen Pass, Screen Pass, Run up the Middle, Screen Pass, Run to the left, Punt -- Repeat. The Steelers managed to suck less than the one sided officiating and the awful play of the Seahawks combined.
The best part as always was the commercials and this year even they sucked.
The Halftime show involved a dancing Skelton – the rolling stones – it was scary more than entertaining and Aaron Neville sang pretty much the worst National Anthem ever. Thanks for butchering a great song asshole.
If it wasn’t for all the new Sam Adams Spring Ale consumed (highlight of the night) and Emmit Smith quote below about Jarome Bettis’s weight the night would have been a complete waste.
Jarome Bettis is about one Biscuit away from 3 Bills.- Emmit Smith
Yeah – I’d Agree with that.

I agree that it was snoozer. Only a local brew (O'dells Easy Street) made it palatable. I'm not sure that I can separate the game from my disappointment that the Colts weren't there (who I also think could have pulled out that game). The game was definitely in line with how the rest of the playoffs went -- boring with games in which both teams were rarely playing their best.
I will say, though, that Tom looked good yesterday. Granted, he would rather have been in his uniform, but the suit worked too.
For as much as the NFL doesnt want any dynasties, they dont want smaller market teams in the Superbowl. How much do they think it is going to suck when they call in Tom Brady to flip the coin. Isn't this honor reserved for retired players, hall of famers, war heroes.
When is the draft? :)
B, only 83 days till the draft. I wonder if the Patrioits are going to put the moves on any free agent RB's.
I love Dillon but he isin't getting any younger! Imagine if we get Edge from Indy? How freakin' sweet would that be?
Here I go again with the pipe dreams.
Don't even think about it.
(BTW, it never remembers my info despite selecting the radio button instructing it to do so. :( )
Nicole -- there is no shame in becoming a Patriots fan. Ditch that loser and join a winner. Also .. if you join the Patriots fanclub you can get free pictures of a shirtless Tom Brady!
W00t.
(I should have fixed that problem -- thanks for pointing it out)
Best commentary quote ever, posted by Bill Simmons on his review of the Superbowl ..
