I was enjoying in my normal Tuesday routine which entails getting ready for work while listening to WEEI (Boston sports talk radio) this morning. The morning hosts usually choose some ambiguous topic to rant and rave about all morning, filling the would be dead air time with useless banter in a somewhat sports or society related theme.

This morning they were discussing the impending indictment of Barry Bonds, the biggest tool in baseball.

Barry has his defenders (as he should) who readily call in every 10 minutes to claim that he is not being indicted because of his blatant abuse of steroids, but rather he is being persecuted because he is a successful black athlete. That is another discussion all in its own.

This one caller (asshat) claimed that the hosts of this radio program attack black athletes when they make mistakes (get arrested for spousal abuse, drug possession, gun possession, etc) where if a white athlete committed the same crime they would “overlook” the offence.

Regardless if that is true or not, this caller cited a specific example to back his argument up. The recently arrested Jason Sullivan, one of the Patriot’s Defensive Tackles, for DUI, playing loud music, speeding and drug possession.

This caller “wigged out”, accusing that the radio hosts ignored this egregious offence and did not drag him over the proverbial hot coles of media scrutiny as they would have if he was black.

The radio hosts were nice enough to let this caller have the microphone for a good three minutes where the caller accused the hosts of being racist placators to an oppressive white society.

Once the main had drained himself of all the hate filled words he knew they calmly informed him that Jonathan Sullivan is indeed a BLACK MAN.

This is just a friendly reminder to do your research before arguing a point (especially such a volatile one) and looking like a complete jackass.
