Project Nemo: 3 months
Posted on September 05, 2006 in ReefkeepingIt’s about been 3 months since the decision to take on my new hobby – I’ve learned many valuable lessons. One of these lessons is the importance of a good water-absorant mop.
I just wanted to post a quick picture of the progress of the tank as of this morning. I have quickly changed courses from just a “fish only” to now include corals.
Check it out. Click to enlarge.

2 Maroon Clownfish, 4 Blue Damsels, 1 Blue Hippo Tang, 1 Tuxeudo Damsel, 1 Blue Neon Goby, 3 Peppermint Shrimp and 1 Coral Branded Shrimp.

AWW its Nemo!!! : 0 )
Also to be noted: Snails and Hermit Crabs still do continue to duke it out for modular homes.
F**king sweet, dude! I love watching the progress of this thing. It's like that old Windows 3.11 aquarium screensaver. Except it's real. And it's a lot better graphics. And it's not mine. OK it's nothing like that screensaver.
Thanks man -- It's even more amazing to watch worms, plants and sponges grow randomly out from the sand and rocks when you aren't looking. Ill be looking at it and all of the sudden something will move and I' say to myself "WTF was that worm/spider/carrot top like thing?"
The go searching on the net just to realize a colony of Green Star Polyps has begun to grow. It's pretty amazing.
Right now all the rocks have a different color to them .. but after a few months (6 maybe) in the tank they should all be the deep purple color like the center few rocks.
I think I need to let it be for a bit .. I've been diddling with it a few hours every day for the past few months. It's time for it to hit cruise control and watch it grow like a chia pet -- I've been thinking about creating some sort of time lapse photo of this process.
Next is reef cam.
