Wednesday Morning Quarterback
Posted on November 01, 2006 in SportsHi, how are you? Yeah? I’m fine -- thanks for asking.
Yeah the SOC party last week was off the hook! It was crazy -- like insane crazy -- hanging from the ceiling throwing lightbulbs at people crazy. It was great to see all the old Providence crew.
I just wanted to say to you .. I told you so. Yeah we both freaked out a bit there with the beginning of the Patriots season -- things were a little rocky in the passing game. They looked out of sync and you got your panties all up in a knot .. I thought we should just give him (Brady) a little time and try to work it out like they have in the past. You know .. have some faith and Monday night it looked like it paid off.
Now – they are without a doubt a contender for the Superbowl this year.

Bill Belichick just pulled the pants right off Bam Childress on Monday Night football didn’t he? Everybody thought that it was going to be a running battle – that’s exactly why it was the last thing Belichick was going to do. It’s hard to quantify the advantage we have in the coaching game – that kind of illustrated it perfectly. Your not going to get what you expect.
I can't you how excited I get from those Corey Dillon-esk stiff arms that Lawrence Maroney is handing out like candy on Halloween. They must be buy one get one free at the Christmas Tree Shop or something. The power and speed that he possesses is undeniable -- he is an ANIMAL. Rookie of the year without a doubt.
Yeah they got Indy next week – you couldn’t ask for a better setup. Indy’s running game is lackluster at best and now opponents need to cover the whole field as the receivers get in sync with Brady. What’s Belichick going to do? I can’t wait to find out.

The Old Dirty Tekwizad Sez: I can not question Belichick or Brady even if they never win another Superbowl again. I was actually surprised that Tom Brady and company absolutely destroyed the Minnesota Defense. Given that Brady is only just beginning to click with these guys (e.g. Doug Gabriel and Caldwell) should be quite a scary thing for other teams to think about. I was scared. Eeeeeeeeeeeek. Halloween Came Early Biatchz!!!
I do worry about the Colts. I don’t know what the outcome will be because the Colts know that we could potentially run right from the start. Can the Colts contain the run? The Colts won’t stop the run but can they contain it?
The Patriots still have a way to go this season but I’m excited. People forget that improvement is exactly what makes them win the championship and the fact that they have to get better each week and stay focused to win... Unlike many dynasties of the past that were got fat and happy...Patriots do not get complacent. Patriots do not think they are great they just work.
Some shit bum teams of the past five years that are (at one point during the season…) undefeated and overhyped on ESPN (like the 01’ Steelers, 03’ Colts, 03’ Chiefs, 04’ Steelers, 05’ Colts, etc) talk shit but they do nothing in the end.
I don’t know if the Patriots will do it again this year and I would argue they don’t know either right now but they will be honest about how they move forward each game the rest of the season. Dynasties past got ruined by looking too far ahead. Patriots win 1 in a row as many times as they can and that’s it. It’s not sexy but it wins championships.
I’m starting to get that feeling again.
Nothing would please me more than for the Patriots to face Chicago in the Superbowl in Miami and avenge the humiliating loss that marked the pathetic franchise we used to be nearly 20 years ago…

Its a good thing when the comment is longer than the original post it commented on.
Well said Tekwizard.
And please -- don't forget to cheer for the man. #4 Adam Vinatieri -- when he kicks off, that way when hes out there kicking for the game we don't have to boom him then!
