What a game, after 6 years of winning nail biters, we finally know what it feels like to lose one. Hat’s off to the Colts, they got it done. They got some help from the officials, injuries and player mistakes – but that’s football and we have been capitalizing on it for years. I am still undecided on whether or not I want to root for the Colts in the Superbiznol (can’t use the term Super____ because of registered trademark, SIC)

On one hand I want to end this “Is Peyton a big game QB shit” because I’m sick of listening to it. He proved it this weekend that he knows how to win big games, he proved that long time ago. In football there are no “meaningless games”

On the other hand, if somehow he blows it he may actually lose his shit. Like some Lindsay Lohan/Paris Hilton/Dave Chappel freak out insane asylum type shit. It will be the holy grail that he got so close to but couldn’t reach and that may cause him problems in the future, ones that we could benefit from.

Happier Times

There is a small constellation to getting kicked out of the playoffs by the team who wins the Superbiznol too .. sorry San Diego.

This year we watched the emergence of superstar Asante Samuel. He was always a reliable corner, but this year being a contract year, he really stepped it up. I’m going on the record right now by saying the Pats will not give him his “Get Paid” contract, he will move on to less green pastures, but make 4 Million more a year doing so. Lets just hope he’s not in the AFC like Ty Law.

It’s amazing how a large number of athletes have huge year when its contract time. I’m not sure if its just because we (as fans) are specifically watching or because the players step it up because they want to “Get Paid”.

Either way, this was a fantastic season filled with the normal sports drama, big rookies, big wins and typical football fun. I hope that the Patriots can go out and find another good target for Brady, I like Caldwell, Gaffney, Brown and the Tight End’s – but we need a little more consistency.

There should be a few good free agents on the market, and we need to solve some issues like ageing Linebackers and health in the Safety position.

There are rumors floating around that Teddy Bruschi may retire, I find it a little unlikely because I don’t think he is “done”. He however has 3 reasons why he should (3 small children) and several million dollars to do it on. He could be an analyst working a mere two days a week and enjoy his family the rest of the time and with all he has accomplished I don’t know if I would come back if I was him.

If I have seen Bruschi’s last game I would be a little upset, but I have nothing but absolute respect for his work ethic, endurance, heart and leadership. He is the epitome of all you want in a role model, never saying a un-kind word and a legend in every sense of the word never to be forgotten.
