Rebirth
Posted on April 19, 2007 in LifeSupposedly, it’s spring.
Trees are budding with new foliage like the one they shed last fall. Critters are emerging from their long winters nap with renewed vigor and there is a freshness in the air as signs of new life are all around us.
In the same vein, I have decided to start a new chapter in my life by moving on from my position at Digitas and take on a new exciting adventure at Sapient.
I want to take a moment and address my colleagues whom provided me with the three best years of my life, whom I consider not just co-workers but friends.
Every single day I was inspired by you in some way. It may have been in a technical capacity, it may have been in a business sense or even as a person.
Every day I was challenged by you to be a better individual, every day I laughed, every day I felt respect and collaboration from you.
I just hope I held up my end of a bargain and provided you with the same respect and expertise as you shared with me.
I thank you all from the bottom of my subroutine.
Sunday, I hop on a jet and fly to Santa Monica for a week of orientation at the Sapient corporate headquarters. So much for collecting my thoughts and purging myself of hotdogs!

Dude, are you moving to Cali? That's f'd if so. Good luck either way tho.
At this point no. I just need to go out there to align myself with some of my colleagues so we are all singing the same tune. But that discussion whether or not to move was had.
I will be working out of their Cambridge office -- but will need to travel out to California somewhat periodically.
Was a fun few years - good luck in the new position and keep in touch...
I pitty the people that have the share the plane with you as the various vapors from alcohol and hot dogs escape from your body...
Thanks Chris. Was great working with you too.
Wow, dude! Good luck in the new gig!
By the way, you've been fully assimilated into the corporate drone world with this comment: "I just need to go out there to align myself with some of my colleagues..."
That's sadder than you possibly moving to Cali. :P
Congrats on the Gig! Actually I just got back from Santa Monica, the O.C. and SD. It was a good time.

Jim: HA!
No kidding Jim. Life sure has changed recently, In a few years I have gone from renegade developer to more of a managerial/architect type role.
I'm still the same dumb punk at heart, but who knew people would seek out my opinion!!
I hope all is well by you.
TEK:
I just got back from a walk on the Pier -- got myself a burrito, was a good time. Cali is pretty much what I expected except a little colder, but I hear that this is odd weather for this time of year. Its about 60-75 degrees daily.
I should have some interesting photos online tomorrow or Friday.
Go Sox!
Congrats on the new gig!
